Why We Exist
Full Circle Lab exists to contribute to the movement of bringing humanity back to veterinary medicine.
The vast majority of people who enter the profession of veterinary medicine do so to engage in the pursuit and mastery of knowledge fueled by tremendous passion to improve the lives of animals. These people are driven, creative, empathetic, and resilient.
Often, along the professional journey, many veterinary professionals encounter extremely challenging realities of the profession such as high student loan debt; compensation models which promote excessive work; understaffing; and economic euthanasia, just to name a few.
In response to these challenges, compassion fatigue, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, sleep disturbances, burnout, and even suicide have become increasingly common.
Often, veterinary professionals find themselves disconnected from their original sense of purpose, disenchanted with a lack of autonomy and creative opportunities, overwhelmed with challenges that they feel powerless to overcome, and numb to parts of life that used to bring them joy and happiness.
A common response to these challenges is burnout and leaving the profession all together. That’s where we come in.
Full Circle Lab works directly with veterinary practices and individual professionals to address the challenges that can lead to burnout and turnover. We aim to bring veterinary professionals full circle, back to the passion and purpose of improving the lives of animals while caring for their own lives too.
