My listeners know by now I LOVE personality typing and discussing its impact in the workplace. Today I am talking to Theresa Bohler, she has worked with animals in some capacity for the last 44 years. Now she is a Certified DiSC Trainer helping veterinary professionals communicate better, deal with conflict, discover what motivates them, and enjoy their work much more.

DiSC is a personal assessment that identifies and deepens your understanding of yourself and others.

Dominance: People with D personalities tend to be confident and place an emphasis on accomplishing bottom-line results.

influence: People with i personalities tend to be more open and place an emphasis on relationships and influencing or persuading others.

Steadiness: People with S personalities tend to be dependable and place the emphasis on cooperation and sincerity.

Conscientious: People with C personalities tend to place the emphasis on quality, accuracy, expertise, and competency.

This assessment evaluates your personality based on what you think people expect of you vs what you really are. After taking this assessment you can really see, WOW it is so spot on. You can even begin to understand why you do certain things and the types of people you are attracted to in relationships. Theresa and I discuss our results and what they mean to us and how we operate in our work and our daily lives.

Understanding personality is so much easier than you would think, you just have to learn certain indicators. Theresa shares some examples and anecdotes from her personal sphere on interactions that prove DiSC indicators. Know someone, no-nonsense, straight to the point? They’re likely a D.  The person who will talk to you about everything under the sun, and before you know it it’s been hours… they’re an I. The concerned hugger, the person who is always there for you…they’re an S. Type A organizers…these people are your C’s.

Theresa’s goal is to make every vet clinic have an easier day by bringing this training to clinics to assist operations and create a cohesive working environment using her expertise in DiSC and conflict resolution. If you want to learn more about Theresa you can connect with her on LinkedIn or reach her via email.
