Christina Delgado comes from an extensive background in the veterinary medicine industry. Today she works as a multi-clinic manager for two hospitals as well as being the management coach for her division, spanning across three states. Christina describes her management technique as Servant Leadership.

Servant Leadership is all about empowering each individual to be their best and get what they need. For Christina, her people are her priority. She leads her team with their interests and needs at the forefront. As someone who has been in many positions across the community, she is a manager who knows what it’s like to be managed and that gives her a unique advantage when it comes to supporting her team.

Veterinary Medicine is certainly not all rainbows and butterflies, even in the best hospitals there will be difficult, busy, chaotic days. The key is that these days are not happening every day and your team knows you will support them through that. The foundation for this is a cohesive team and a positive culture. A cohesive team means that every member has flow and efficiency and is cross-trained to reduce bottlenecking during chaos. And culture as Christina says is more than just laughing at work, it’s every member of the team working well together and feeling supported beyond the busy day.

Christina has a great message for leaders about the value of investing in your team. If you’re a struggling leader and looking for mentorship, you can reach out to Christina Delgado on LinkedIn. We are all in this together!
